Why so many women are burned out
I never go back to the same place twice. There are so many corners of the world to discover, and I have always loved that sense of moving forward, exploring, learning.
And yet here I am, back in this wild corner of Costa Rica for the third time. At first, I knew we desperately needed a holiday after incredibly difficult 2 years, loosing businesses and starting again from the scratch. Total exhauster and burn out. This place was calling me beyond explanation.
But now, sitting here under the soft heat of the full moon, I know: I came because I needed to listen my inner voice. And what I’m hearing is something many women around the world are feeling too, whether they can articulate it or not.
The real reason so many women are burned out
We are not burned out because we are weak. We are burned out because the modern way of life, and the way of business we are taught, is profoundly disconnected from what women’s bodies and souls need to thrive.
For years, I ran businesses in London. I built communities. I created beautiful brands. I loved my work deeply, and I gave it everything. And yet somewhere along the way, my body stopped speaking clearly. My nervous system was in constant overdrive. The joy that used to flow so naturally was replaced by stress, over-responsibility, constant performance, fear and doubt.
This is not unique to me. I see it a lot:
In women entrepreneurs who secretly feel empty behind the brand.
In mothers trying to live up to impossible standards.
In women who spend fortunes on "wellness" but never feel well.
In brilliant creatives whose bodies are screaming for rest, softness, space.
Why?
Because modern culture teaches us a very masculine way of being:
Linear productivity → constant forward motion, no seasons, no cycles.
Performance wellness → endless striving to be "better," even in our healing.
External validation → chasing goals, likes, followers, money, not inner truth.
Disconnection from nature → from real plants, from body, from the rhythms of life.
Disconnection from feminine wisdom under pressure → from the deep knowing that lives in the body, in the womb, in the wild, in the unseen.
And so we burn out. Not because we failed. But because this system was never made for us.
There is another way
In this sacred spot of Costa Rica, I see another rhythm - one many women are longing for. It is not a trendy workshop. Not an instagramable healing retreat. It is not something you can buy in a 5-step program.
It is a way of being that remembers:
That the body is wise, it talks to us.
That life moves in cycles, not straight lines.
That sensuality, intuition, and deep rest are not luxuries, they are foundation.
That plants hold wisdom modern science is only beginning to understand.
That true nourishment, for body, mind, soul, and even business, starts in slowness, softness, connection and listening.
This is not about escaping responsibility, is about building from alignment, so what you create in the world is sustainable, beautiful, and life-giving, not draining and performative.
And this is not just personal. It is collective. I believe the next wave of business, of leadership, of culture, will be led by women who have done this inner work. Women who are reconnecting to body, to earth, to intuition, and who are creating brands, spaces, movements that honour life, not extract from it.
Why I’m speaking about this now
I am still walking this path. This trip is not the story. The deeper story is the shift I feel in my own being, and the shift I see rippling through so many women I know.
There is a reason so many of us are being called to nature now; craving slowness, ritual and depth. There is a reason so many of us can no longer tolerate the fake, the loud, the surface-level.
It is because the feminine, in all of us, is rising. Not as a trend. Not as a marketing hook. But as a deep, ancient remembering that the world needs now.
And if we ignore it, we burn out. If we listen to it, we begin to rebuild a way of life, and of business, that is truly nourishing.
The journey ahead
I don’t have all the answers. But I know this: the most important "life and business strategy" is to stay connected to body, to heart, and to the natural intelligence that lives through them. We know more that we think, even no-one thought us.
We build from fullness now, from deep alignment, not depletion.
We honour the body’s rhythms as wisdom, not weakness.
We lead in ways that feel natural, not forced by someone who knows “better”
We no longer need to pretend or fit into systems that were never made for us.
There’s a different way, softer, truer, more intuitive than logical, and entirely our own.
I know many of you are feeling the same. If this speaks to you, know you are not alone.
And together, we can help birth a new way forward.
